Exhibiting
The Model X Organising Committee issue letters of invitation to interested people, usually in the October preceding the respective show. Applications close by the end of February prior to the show, which means that exhibitors should know by March if their application for space has been successful. Applications are generally on a first come, first placed, basis.
Who wants to be an Exhibitor?
The Committee are looking for displays of any hobby activity with particular emphasis on showing the public “what you do, how you do it and why you do it”. Its purpose is to develop hobby interests and how better to pursue that aim than through the Model X Extravaganza weekend. We offer the space if you have the time and enthusiasm. You can share and learn and have lots of fun in the process. Clubs, organisations, trade and individuals are all invited to apply for exhibit space.
With regards to hobby groups/clubs, our Extravaganza is an obvious opportunity to tout for new members. You should therefore be prepared to distribute handouts and answer questions about your particular activities, where you meet, contacts, etc..
Who can Apply? What does it Cost?
Individuals, groups and members of the trade are invited to apply for exhibiting space at MODEL X. An APPLICATION FORM will be supplied with full details of the venue and what is expected of your staff etc.. In the form you are asked to describe your proposed exhibit in as much detail as possible, indicating your preferences for space allocation. Your application should be posted as soon as possible and prior to the closing date; the end of February. We cannot guarantee that you will get your choice or quantity of spaces but your selection will assist the planners. All Applications will be considered.
The Committee does not charge clubs or individuals for their space as long as they are displaying a hobby activity and are not selling. The understanding is that, if the weekend is a success and the committee is able to cover its expenses, an ex-gratia payment may be able to be donated to you or your club, to cover costs and to show appreciation of your efforts and support. Should you wish to display a hobby activity and sell items on your stand, we will take this into account when we consider your eligibility to receive the ex-gratia payment. When you apply, you should be specific about your exhibit. If you have any queries about this ruling, please ask for clarification at the time of your application.
Trade exhibitors; however, will be charged a FEE based on the allocated space. Details are set out in the Application Form. Our charges are minimal and assist the committee towards meeting the advertising and promotion costs. The fee will be due for payment by the last day of Model X.
Sponsorship is also welcome, and interested parties should contact the committee Secretary to open discussions.
